Are your prices fixed or do they vary with traffic?
All prices are fixed and agreed upfront. You never pay more regardless of traffic, waiting time or route changes. There are no hidden fees, no surge pricing, no fuel surcharges. The price you see at booking is the price you pay.
Private driver vs. taxi in Italy — which is better?
Naples Airport → Positano: private driver Cerrato Limo €220 fixed, Mercedes E-Class, up to 3 passengers, 60 min free wait. Metered taxi €280–€350 (varies with traffic + airport surcharge + luggage), cash-only at Positano, no flight monitoring, often unavailable in peak season. Wait time difference: private driver tracks your flight and waits free up to 60 min if delayed; taxi meter starts at €25–€40 from minute one if you are late. Availability: Positano in July you can wait 60+ minutes for an available taxi; private driver is pre-booked, no risk. Verdict: for airport transfers, Amalfi Coast, and luxury hotel arrivals, private driver wins on cost certainty + reliability. For short city hops in Rome or Milan (under 5 km), metered taxi or Uber is usually cheaper.
How much does a transfer from Rome Fiumicino to Positano cost?
€661 for up to 3 passengers in Mercedes Business Class — a 280 km, 3.5-hour private drive direct to your hotel door. Premium Van (up to 7 pax) from €859. Price includes tolls, fuel, meet & greet at FCO arrivals, flight monitoring, and up to 60 minutes free waiting time. No connections, no Frecciarossa + taxi handoff, no surge pricing. Frecciarossa Roma-Napoli + private taxi to Positano costs €120-180 per person and takes 5+ hours door-to-door. For 2-3 travelers, private is comparable in cost and saves the connection.
Can I cancel or modify my booking?
Free cancellation and full deposit refund up to 48 hours before scheduled pickup. Cancellations between 48-24 hours incur 50% fee. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged 100%. Modifications (time, vehicle, passengers) are free if requested 24h+ in advance.
How do I book a private transfer with Cerrato Limo?
You can book directly online through the booking form. Select pickup location, destination, date, time and number of passengers. You receive instant confirmation by email. A 25% deposit is charged via Stripe to confirm your reservation. The remaining 75% is auto-charged 24-72 hours before pickup.
What is your free waiting time policy?
Up to 60 minutes free wait at airports (Naples, Rome FCO, Rome CIA, etc.) — we monitor your flight in real time and adjust automatically. 30 minutes free wait at train stations. 15 minutes at ports, cruise terminals and other pickups. No charges if you are delayed within these windows.
Do your drivers speak English?
Yes. All Cerrato Limo chauffeurs speak fluent English. Many also speak French, German or Spanish. Drivers are formally dressed, help with luggage, recommend restaurants and answer questions about the area. Andrea Cerrato coordinates each transfer personally with vetted local drivers.
What vehicles are available for private transfers?
Mercedes-Benz fleet: Business Class (E-Class, up to 3 pax), First Class (S-Class, up to 3), Premium Van (V-Class, up to 7), Standard Van (Vito, up to 8), XL Van (Sprinter, up to 8) and Luxury MiniBus (up to 16). All vehicles include Wi-Fi, water and air conditioning.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express with no foreign transaction surcharges. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe Link supported. A 25% deposit is charged at booking via Stripe. The remaining 75% is auto-charged to the same card 24-72 hours before pickup with email confirmation. No action needed on your part.
Do I need to tip the driver?
Tipping is welcome but never expected at Cerrato Limo. Your fixed price already covers tolls, fuel, wait time, meet and greet, and the driver's professional fee — Italy is not the US, the math is genuinely done. If your driver went above (extra stops, late-night airport, kids), Italian custom is €5–€20 in cash at the end of the ride. No percentage math, no awkward terminal moment. Many of our American guests skip it entirely — that is also completely fine.
Do you provide child seats and booster seats?
Yes. Child seats (0-3 years), booster seats (4-12 years) and rear-facing infant carriers are available on request — free of charge, no extra fees. Just mention the age of your children when booking. We follow Italian law on child restraints (mandatory under 150cm) and use UN ECE R44/04 or R129 certified seats. For families with 3+ children, we recommend our Premium Van (Mercedes V-Class) which seats up to 7 passengers with full child-seat capacity.
How far in advance should I book for July/August?
For Amalfi Coast transfers in peak season (June-September), we recommend booking 4-8 weeks in advance. Mid-July to late August fills up first — popular dates around major hotel weddings or cruise calls can be fully booked 2-3 months ahead. Same-day FCO → Positano transfers in August are sometimes physically impossible due to cruise-ship traffic on SS163: ask us before booking the flight. For shoulder season (April-May, October), 1-2 weeks ahead is usually enough.
What areas do you cover in Italy?
We operate across 19 Italian regions with 1,900+ routes and 25 airports. Core service: Naples (NAP), Rome (FCO, CIA), Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Praiano), Sorrento Peninsula, plus custom destinations including Tuscany, Lake Como, Puglia, Sicily.
